Jose Higueras Jose Higueras was known as a very steady, smart player, reaching as high as seven on the ATP rankings. Later, Higueras translatated that skill into becoming one of the wise coaching gurus with a very keen understanding of the whole game. As a USTA coach, Higueras helped Chang win the French Open in '89. then, on his own, he partnered with Courier for many years, helping Courier also to win French.
