Volleying the High Floater

Movement/Swing Elements

- Use a continental grip.
- Hit the split step right before you opponent connects.
- Racquet goes back behind the shoulder with an open racquet
face.
- As you move the racquet forward to meet the ball, lead
with the wrist and the bottom edge of the ball.
- The point of contact is behind the front shoulder; you
can achieve this by stepping ahead of the ball.
- After the connection, let the bottom edge of the racquet
take a slight lead to impart underspin on the ball.
