What happens if a ball is hit around the net post (and does not pass directly
over the net) but lands in the court. Is this shot good?
Answer
Yes, the shot would be considered good. While the general rule in tennis
is that the ball must "pass over the net" and land in the opposite
court to be considered good, this is not literally true. For example, if
a player were pulled extremely wide and hit a low shot (lower than the height
of the net) around the net post and the ball landed in, the shot would be
considered good.
