Rule of the Week Question

In doubles, can the server stand in the behind the baseline in the doubles alley to serve? What are the rules?

Answer

The short answer is yes. The long answer is to be found in the USTA rulebook, which says, "the server has the right in doubles to stand anywhere back of the baseline between the center mark imaginary extension and the doubles sideline imaginary extension."
