The Hoad Serve

Hoad Serve Elements

The toss is well out in front and Hoad's arm is cocked back low.

His elbow remains low as he rotates his forearm and racquet up and then into the drop position.
As the racquet reaches the bottom of the drop, he quickly turns into the hit.
Finally, he snaps the racquet through the hit, finishing with shoulders turned well into the court.
Overall, the Hoad serve is compact, fluid, and very powerful.
