The TennisONE Web site features:
- The most complete listing of U.S. tennis clubs, public facilities,
stores and schools of any Web site. We have almost all of the U.S.
tennis facilities listed on our Web site. If we've missed your facility,
use our on-line forms to submit your information. We'll be going international
before long as well. Check out an example
Portland local page.
- The best Web site for listing tennis tournaments, amateur or professional.
We have sent out a mailing to each U.S. tennis club and public tennis
facility requesting that they send us their 1996 tournament schedule. If
you don't see your club's tournament schedule on our site, just use our
on-line tournament forms to submit your information. Check out the
Dallas local page. We'll also be working with the various tennis' professional
organizations to place their tournament information on our site.
- Everything Tennis in Your Local Area. Just click on your area
of our U.S. map. You can navigate down to your state
and local region. There you will find the world of tennis in your area,
including:
- Free Tennis Lessons
- Tournament Schedules
- Tennis Clubs
- Public Tennis Facilities
- Tennis Stores
- Tennis Schools
- Tennis Resorts
- In-depth tennis lessons and tips. Rather than giving you one
tip of the month, TennisONE will eventually give you a whole library of
tennis lessons and tips. Anytime you have a problem on the court, you can
check out out TennisONE's lesson page to
find the solution. We're going to build our library of lessons using the
top local teaching pros as well as industry recognized figures. Check out
a sample lesson from Brian Garrow,
former semi-finalist in the U.S. Open Doubles, or Anna
Ivan, former top #40 singles player on the WTA tour.
- Local bulletin board to exchange local news and results. You
no longer have to wait 3-6 months to find out who won that local tournament
you played in or some important regional playoff result you're interested
in. Each region and local area of the United States has its own "Events"
and "Tournament Results" bulletin board. People can post results
immediately-as well as upcoming important tennis events in your area. For
example, check out the Los
Angeles local bulletin board. We need moderators for these bulletin
boards, and we extend an invitation to the regional USTA representatives
to take over and moderate these bulletin boards. This would also be an
excellent vehicle to post USTA news and events. If you want to contact
us in this regard, just send email to: partners@tennisone.com
Philosophy of TennisONE
- Mission: TennisONE's mission is to increase tennis participation
at all levels, from kids to seniors, throughout the world. At this point
the U.S. portion of our site is up and working, but we will be going international
as well. We are actively seeking alliances with all the tennis federation
and non-profit tennis groups who share TennisONE's mission. If you want
to contact us in this regard, just send email to: partners@tennisone.com
- Celebrate the participatory nature of tennis. Some sports, like
football and hockey, are largely spectator sports. Tennis is different.
While tennis fans enjoy watching tennis live or on television, a good percentage
of tennis fans are also active tennis players. Sure, we encourage people
to watch more tennis, but our real focus is to get people to play more
tennis.
- Focus on amateur and professional tennis. Almost all the current
tennis magazines and Web sites focus on professional tennis. Professional
tennis is great, but again, tennis is a participatory sport, and amateur
players want to know about their side of the sport. Therefore, a major
component of the TennisONE Web site is its focus on amateur tennis, including
all the local tennis information in your area. By organizing our mapping
and data this way, you can now instantly look up the tennis tournaments
in the area you are going to travel to, and book a tournament at the location.
TennisONE is certainly not going to ignore the professional side of the
sport. We believe we have several ways we can contribute in a unique fashion
to the professional circuit, and we'll be building these features into
our site as we move along. For example, check out Bob
Larson's tennis newsletter, which provides the most timely coverage
of what's happening in the world of tennis.
- Build tennis at the local club and store level. We know that
most of the real work and effort to build the game of tennis happens in
local clubs (private and public) and stores. By incorporating all local
tennis information into one, easily accessible spot, we believe we can
make it easier for more people to join clubs, take lessons, play in tournaments,
and buy more tennis products from their local pros and local stores.
- Focus on improving your game. No matter at what level you play-if
you play-you want to improve your game. We're serious about giving you
the tools you need.
- Tennis lessons with photos and graphics. Tennis lessons are
much better if you can visualize the lesson. TennisONE will use color photography
and graphics to help you see the point, not just read about it.
- Sponsorship and Advertising. Thousands of avid tennis fans will
be accessing our site from all over the world. They represent the ideal
target market for tennis companies and other companies who target tennis
audiences in their advertising programs. If you want to find out more,
check out our sponsorship/advertising section.
- Low-cost national, regional and local advertising. We're just
getting started, so we're offering extremely low advertising rates to encourage
and reward our new business partners. Our advertising rates go as low as
$75 per month for local advertising targeted at your local market. Again,
if you want to find out more, check out our sponsorship/advertising
section.
