Hopscotch and Split-Step

Many people ask me, "What is a split-step and how do you do it?" I tell them it's just like hop-scotch. You move forward and then you stop by planting your feet slightly apart. Your weight should be evenly balanced, and your knees and thighs flexed. Once you've split-stepped, you're ready to react to whatever your opponent might do.
