"Serving on Wrong Side"

Rule of the Week Question

I broke my opponents serve to go up 2-1 in the first set. We forgot to switch sides as I began to serve the next game. After servng a fault on first point of the new game I realized we hadn't switched sides. What would have been the correct thing to do at that point?

Answer

At that point you would switch sides and deliver your second serve on the other side of the court.
