Rule of the Week
Every week TennisONE will respond to a frequently asked
question about the rules of tennis.
Ok, I play quite a few tournaments and USTA matches, and
about 50 percent of the time, my opponent is foot faulting. Do I just call
them, or do I warm them first?
USTA rules state that in a non-officiated match, yes, you should warn your opponents before calling a foot fault. The rules also state there is no justification for ignoring this rule and allowing your opponent to continue to foot fault. If you do, you only have your self to blame.
