5. Executing the Split-Step
Before you hit that first volley, you must slow your forward momentum
and for most beginning club players, come to a complete, balanced stop.
With your knees and thighs flexed, your weight balanced slightly forward
on the soles of your feet, and your racquet head up, you are ready to move
in any direction to hit your first volley.
