6. Running Through the Volley
Many club players think they must hit their first volley at the service
line. They are so concerned about getting closer to the net that they continue
full speed ahead as they attempt to hit their first volley. We call this
running through the volley. Here you can see that I'm still running
into the net as my opponent is hitting the ball. This doesn't give
me enough time to slow down and react to my opponent's shot. As a result,
I have to lunge after the passing shot.
