TennisOne Lessons
1. Balancing the Ball
I begin most of the lessons with some activities that begin to give the
children a feel for the ball and racquet. After showing them how to hold
the racquet and lining them up against the back fence, have the students
walk forward to the net and back while balancing the ball on the strings.
This begins to give them a feel for how the racquet affects the movement
of the ball. They will also see how their success in balancing the ball
will largly be dependant on the strenghth of the wrist and arms as well
as watching the ball very closely. Thus starting the process on building
on their hand-eye coordination.
