2. Bouncing the Ball
In continuing to enhance their feel for space, movement and force we
can now begin some games with a moving ball. Simple bounce drills can be
varied in a number of ways to really give kids a feel for their racquet.
They can dribble the ball up or down. Initially give everyone a goal that
they can all be succesful with, "Okay let's see who can bounce the
ball up in the air 3 times."
If they're having trouble bouncing the ball up in the air and timing it,
have them let the ball bounce in between hits.
Again variety can be added to make it more challenging either individually
or competitively. Such variety could include seeing how many they can do
in 30 seconds? How many they can do as a team? Or simply how many they can
do in a row? Use your imagination and have fun.
