2. Correct Positioning
c. Options, Options, Options
With a final and subtle adjustment of the wrist and hand I can now place
the delicate, angled volley crosscourt, volley hard down at my opponents'
feet, or play a finesse angle to my right and to the returner's alley.
My preparation has been early and my weight is moving forward and into the
shot. With the racquet up and "waiting for the ball," I easily
disguise my shot and readily select from my options. It's nice to have choices,
especially when you're at the net in doubles. The secret is in positioning.
By the way, on this play my partner did indeed say, "Nice shot."
